Emery is a silly little thing. And a happy little thing. Sometimes she’s a stubborn little thing and an opinionated little thing. A lot of times though, she can be a goofy little thing! Here are some of the goofy things Emery has done lately.
Emery got a new dollhouse for Christmas and loves to play with it. She still doesn’t quite get the roll play, but she knows that the boy is the Daddy, the big girl is the Mommy and the baby is well, the baby. She is very particular about where each person sits and who holds the baby. She really likes if the Daddy holds the baby which I think is pretty cute! It’s also really funny watching Kade play with the dollhouse and compare it to how Emery plays with it. Kade gets the roll play thing, but his house is always blowing up, or the people are being chased by dinosaur's and things are always flying everywhere leaving the house in a complete disaster. Just the difference between boys and girls I guess!
Here are the Mom and Dad giving each other kisses.
She worked so hard to get the Dad to sit in his chair!
Trying to get the table set just right. A lot of the time, Emery doesn’t play with the toys in the doll house but just has them sitting wherever she wants on the carpet.
Making the Daddy hold the baby.
Taking a taste of the supper for herself!
This picture of Emery looks so much like me when I was a little girl. Jut how she is smiling with her eyes. I will work on finding a picture to compare it to!
And happy Emery!
Emery is pretty good at helping me unload the dishwasher. She loves to match the lids with their correct cups and seems to know where a lot of things go in the kitchen. She is pretty good at putting the silverware away but she can’t quite see into the drawer so they end up just getting thrown in. She does know the difference between a measuring spoon and regular spoon though so those at least get thrown into the correct drawer!
Emery says so many words now that it’s difficult for me to keep track when she learns new ones. She picks up on concepts quickly, but doesn’t like to be taught things. When I try to sit down and teach her something, she gets mad and impatient and would just rather observe and do than be shown and do. Kind of strange and hard to explain, but oh well. I know what I mean!
Emery tries to find the baby by lifting up my shirt. She also did this to Crystal when she was out here and does it to herself and points to her belly and says, “Baby!”
Emery LOVES ketchup. It really grosses me out at times. She will dip anything in ketchup, or just eat it like soup with a spoon. Gross. I think one of her favorite things to dip in ketchup is apples. When I try to give her a certain lunch (chicken nuggets or a grilled cheese sandwich) without giving her ketchup, she most likely will cry and refuse to eat her food while saying, “Ketchup!” and pointing at the fridge. Seriously, gross (just to clarify, I love ketchup on things like burgers or to dip fries in, but that’s about the extent of my interest in ketchup).
Emery can climb on our bar stools now. It makes me sad and worried and happy all that the same time. Happy and sad because it means she’s getting big, and worried because I have found her on top of the kitchen counter a time or two after she has climbed up on the bar stool.
Emery has been working on getting her two year molars forever. She has been a horrible teether. It has made her cranky and extremely drooly! I went into the toy room one day and found Sterling’s phone at her feet while she was watching a show. I thought it looked kind of funny, so I took it out of the case (it is in an otter box) and Emery had drooled a huge pool of spit into the case of his phone and gotten it completely soaking wet. It got into the speakers and they didn’t work for a few hours, and seeped into the home button so the phone was constantly turning itself off and on, and doing “voice control”. I finally got it cleaned, dried and taken care of and it seems to be working fine now. She has since drooled twice on my phone, but I’ve caught it earlier so there was minimal spit build up! How do you like that visual?
Emery loves to brush her teeth. She actually is just really oral. When she’s sad, she always wants to have something in her mouth like her binky or a drink, or her toothbrush. She asks all the time if she can brush her teeth. One evening she was being incredibly silly with her toothbrush and I took all of these pictures of her.
Haha I love her smile!
